Excerpted from the above catalog, Under Her Hands by Bill North

Through her inventive and distinctive method, an improvisational and relevatory dance of mind, hand and material, Marks arrives at fantastic creations that are at once in and out of this world. For Marks, process is the transformative agent. It is the generative force from which form, content, and meaning issue. Composed from fragmentary bits and pieces of commercially printed fabric, Marks's sewn drawings are formally sophisticated and psychologically vivid.
